Everyone from her sister Beth inviting a newly arrived family from Guatemala for dinner, to her five year old cousin Carol fending off a snake in the hen house. Too bad Gail does not recognize them as heroes until her goofy Uncle Kevin demonstrates heroism of heart clutching proportions.
As Gail looks at her family and even herself with fresh eyes, she realizes that seemingly small acts of courage can sometimes lead to heroism… and sometimes is often enough.
While it is a sequel to the book, “Strangers in My House,” it stands on its own merits.
It also is filled with beautiful language,
